Wow life has changed so much for us in the past two months. It's overwhelming even to begin to write about it, but that's what I'm going to attempt to do so that I can remember a time that will surely become a blur in my memory.
Jane had her four month checkup. She is growing well and meeting her milestones. She is a happy and healthy baby!
We had a snowstorm in May, and the girls and I went out to the mall to play at the play place that day. I tried to catch the snow in the background but you can only see the snowflakes really in our hair.
Benjy turned 6 on May 21st! The day before, my dad was in town and we went out to eat at Benihana's together.
Sunday was Benjy's birthday, and it was also the day of his violin recital. The boys did a great job playing their songs in their last recital with Mrs. D. :( We are going to miss her so much but are so grateful for the amazing teacher she's been and how much confidence and skill the boys have developed with her.
The following weekend, we celebrated Benjy's birthday with friends at the Apex swim center. I don't think I got any pictures of that, but we had a fun time swimming with the Millers, Hamers, and Suckows. They are all of our closest friends from Denver so it kind of felt like a goodbye hurrah as well as a birthday celebration.
Jane is such a sweet and happy baby. She is so smiley and loves to look at people and faces. She is definitely a social bug!
Benjy graduated from kindergarten along with the rest of his classmates on May 25, 2017. The teachers put together a nice program where the kiddos sang a song about all they had learned in kindergarten, Mr. Klene spoke briefly, and there was a slideshow featuring a baby picture of each kindergartener. Then Mr. Klene read their names and each graduate got to walk up and get a continuation certificate.

We went to a Rockies game on Little League Day and the boys got to walk around the warning track with their teams. Afterward we sat with our teammates and watched the Rockies beat the Dodgers.

We were under contract on the River Oaks house for about a week, during which time Justin and I felt pretty uneasy about the cost of the home and what we were looking at in terms of additional costs of finishing a basement. After we received an email from their agent detailing all the HOA restrictions of the neighborhood (formerly a golf course community that still has stringent covenant requirements), we decided it was not going to be the best home for our family. We very apologetically backed out of the offer and were able to get our earnest money back. Thus began the search for an interim housing solution to give us more time to find the home we wanted to buy. More on that to come!
