The move down here to the Springs certainly stands out among the stressful things I've been through in my life. The day after we drove the truck down, we unpacked it at the townhouse we're renting. It was a downsize in space, and we had more stuff than would fit, so we had to drop some of it off at my mom's and we also had to rent a small storage unit. My family helped us with the unloading. Everyone was completely beat at the end of the day.
That first week here in the Springs is a bit foggy. Justin started back at work on Monday, and the kids and I spent plenty of time unpacking. We took walks to the park next to our townhouse and found the library straightaway, since our books and movies are packed away.
I didn't get a lot in the way of pictures, but here is a smattering of moments. Jane is eating more solid food and enjoys being at the table with the family at mealtime.
Jane is starting to be able to sit up on her own, and she loves swinging at the playground.
Jane also likes playing in her bouncer.
Benjy wanted to have a pet onion when we went to Sprouts. He named his pet "Unny."
Justin's office is right next door to our townhouse, so he walks to and from work every day. He gets to come home for lunch too, which is a treat for all of us. It's great having more time together as a family since the work commute has been eliminated. We have met our next door neighbor, Sharon, who is a very kind and friendly lady in her 60's. She brought us a blueberry cobbler within our first few days here. It's hard moving to a new place and not knowing anybody, but small kindnesses like that give us hope that we will soon make many kind and wonderful friends here in our new home.
